Sia shares new track ‘Alive,’ co-written with Adele and Tobias Jesso Jr.
Originally intended for Adele’s new album, it appears on Sia’s new album This Is Acting’ - featuring songs written for other artists.
Sia has shared a new song ‘Alive,’ o-written with Adele and Tobias Jesso Jr. The track was originally put together for Adele’s new album which is apparently due out in November. For whatever reason, it didn’t make the cut for Adele’s new record, and now it’ll appear on Sia’s upcoming album ‘This Is Acting’ - which is yet to get a release date.
Sia explained in an interview with Billboard that her new release is named ‘This Is Acting’ because it’s comprised of songs she originally wrote for other artists. Though the Australian musician has released solo albums since 1997, and had her own hits with the likes of ‘Chandelier,’ she is also a hugely successful songwriter. Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds,’ ‘Pretty Hurts’ by Beyoncé and Rita Ora’s ‘Radioactive’ were all penned by Sia originally.
‘Alive’ isn’t the first we’ve heard of Adele and Tobias being in the studio together, either. Reportedly the singer’s also been working with Max Martin, Danger Mouse, and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder.
Listen to ‘Alive’ - which Sia wrote together with Adele and Tobias Jesso Jr. - below.
Update:
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Beats 1, Sia confirmed she’d written songs for Beyoncé and Rihanna, and that she’s been working with FKA twigs. She also said there’s a song of hers on the new Adele album.
