Sleaford Mods share details of new album ‘The Demise Of Planet X’
They’ve also dropped a lead single featuring Big Special and actor Gwendoline Christie.

Sleaford Mods are back with the news that their next LP will be entitled ‘The Demise Of Planet X’, and will hit shelves on 16th January 2026 via Rough Trade.
The follow up to 2023’s ‘UK GRIM’, the new album promises to be the duo’s most expansive to date, featuring collaborations with a range of musicians including Life Without Buildings’ Sue Tompkins, Aldous Harding, and fellow Notts locals Liam Bailey and MC Snowy.
First, though, they’re teaming up with Black Country pair Big Special and actor Gwendoline Christie (who, having starred in the likes of Game of Thrones and Wednesday, is making her musical debut) for the record’s lead single ‘The Good Life’.
“When we wrote the last album, it was about stagnation, a country that felt like a lifeless corpse,” vocalist Jason Williamson has explained. “Three years later, that corpse has been split open by war, genocide, and the lingering psychological fallout of Covid whilst social media has mutated into a grotesque, twisted form of digital engineering. It feels like we’re living among the ruins. A multi-layered abomination etched into our collective psyche.”
