Sleaford Mods on Slaves: “They’re ripping us off”
Jason Williamson is not satisfied with the Tunbridge Wells duo.
Sleaford Mods’ Jason Williamson has accused Slaves of “ripping us off”.
The frontman labelled the Tunbridge Wells duo a “pile of shit”, and accused them of intentionally over-emphasising their “working class” image.
Speaking to Crack Magazine, Williamson said: “They’re doing my pose in photos, ripping us off. We met them at Beacons festival last year and they asked if me and Andrew [Fearn, fellow Sleaford Mod] would be interested in writing something for the album, and I said no.”
He added that they’re “trying to play this working class game,” saying: “I think they’re fucking appalling.”
Sleaford Mods’ new album ‘Key Markets’ is out 10th July on Harbinger Sound. Slaves’ debut album ‘Are You Satisfied?’ is out now.
Slaves have since responded to Sleaford Mods, who clearly aren’t satisfied.
