On the telly
Sleigh Bells and Glass Animals were both on Jools last night
Predictably, both bands smashed it.

Last night’s Later… With Jools Holland hosted sets from peanut butter vibe-loving rabble Glass Animals, and a newly-returned Sleigh Bells. As you’d perhaps expect, both bands were bloody excellent.
The latter performed ‘I Can Only Stare,’ a stand-out moment from their soon-to-land fourth album ‘Jessica Rabbit’. Speaking to DIY recently, Alexis Krauss talked about the shift in her vocals for this record towards “an emotional, visceral presence.” That intensive vocal oomph was certainly evident on Jools.
Glass Animals, meanwhile, bought pineapples, bloops, and several impressive dance displays from Drew MacFarlane along to the show. Playing ‘Life Itself’ on the telly, a highlight arrived in the shape of Dave Bayley’s spot-on keyboard miming half way through.
Elsewhere, Chase and Status, Nick Waterhouse, and Puerto Rican guitarist Jose Feliciano played Jools. A sister duo called Joseph also played a song called ‘White Flag’ - sadly not a cover of Dido’s eternal pop classic.
