Glass Animals drop fruity new track ‘Vampire Bat’
The release coincides with the fifth anniversary of their hit 2020 album, ‘Dreamland’.

Having spent the past few weeks teasing a decidedly tropical-themed release on their socials, electro-pop favourites Glass Animals have now unveiled new single ‘Vampire Bat’ - an unsurprisingly groovy earworm that coins the immortal wisdom “kiwi is a cross between a strawberry and a lime”.
The song lands in the midst of what’s been a busy summer of festivals for the Oxford crew (including Madrid’s Mad Cool weekender), and also coincidentally arrives as the band celebrate five years since the release of ‘Dreamland’, their 2020 album that spawned viral megahit ‘Heatwaves’. Taking to Instagram to mark the occasion, Glass Animals have said: “5 years old TODAY. unbelievable. thank u all for embracing this album and changing our lives.”
‘Vampire Bat’ is the quartet’s first new music since last year’s ‘I Love You So Fucking Much’ LP, which saw DIY put Glass Animals on the cover of our June 2024 issue. ICYMI, you can revisit the cover feature and check out ‘Vampire Bat’ for yourself below.
