Sløtface piss off mining companies in ‘Sponge State’ video

Sløtface (fka Slutface) always have a vital point within each of their firestarting pop-punk tracks.

And in the video for new single ‘Sponge State’, they’re more political than ever. Haley Shea and co. join a young activists’ campaign against Nordic Mining, a company dumping chemicals in Førde.

“A friend of ours told us that he was going to join the Natur og Ungdom protests against Nordic Mining,” recount the band. “One week later, we found ourselves sitting in the band mobile (our Soccer Mom car) with our random ass friend Samuel, and all our gear, en route to Førde to play a show for the activists.”

The gig went well - sort of. “Eventually the boss man from Nordic Mining showed up and called the cops – the protesters were arrested, and each received a $1200 USD fine, and we got banned from being on the mountain.”
