Slowdive have reportedly finished their new album

Slowdive are putting the finishing touches to a new album, their first in over two decades.

In a new interview with Danish publication Undertoner, the band’s Simon Scott gave away a few details about their studio comeback. These quotes have been translated, but he appears to say: “We’re finished recording the album and it will be mixed this summer, but we do not know when it is released.”

The group reunited in 2014, playing summer shows at Lisbon’s NOS Alive, Latitude Festival and Barcelona’s Primavera Sound. Rachel Goswell recently spoke to Stereogum about the recording process, saying: “As you get older, it is quite a challenge. But we recorded quite a lot of music last year, and Neil has spent all of this year, in fact, in the studio piecing bits and bolts together, doing more writing on what we recorded. And we’ve got a lot of songs, and I recorded vocals on a couple about three weeks ago.”

Goswell is a member of Minor Victories, who released their debut album earlier this year.
