Spooky Black airs new video for ‘Idle’
Lone stranger - one of 2014’s most talked about new artists - wanders aimlessly in this new track.
Spooky Black isn’t exactly a stranger, but he sometimes comes across that way. One of 2014’s most talked about new artists, he initially appeared in mysterious, gloomy clips, looking like a lost member from East 17. But now he’s tweeting big brash statements like “comparing artists is the laziest way of interpreting music,” and the world’s finally getting to know this curious new phenomenon.
In his second ever ‘official’ video, for ‘Idle’, there’s still a brilliant sense of enigma wrapped around his output. The voice and the image still don’t match, this soulful, emotive vocal coming out of a guy that doesn’t look a day past his first exam. His skinny frame sways in front of ghostly, grey scenery, with the odd shot of night vision entering the process. Half-stoned, half-out of consciousness, out steps that voice of his two minutes in, and everything begins to make sense.

Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
