Sports Team announce their second annual Margate bus trip
Who else got a hangover just reading that?
This time last year, in honour of their single ‘Margate’, London six-piece Sports Team decided not to miss the opportunity for a real-life pun and hired a bus to shepherd their nearest and dearest to the seaside town for a little celebration, and tbh the nightmares of that no air-con, lukewarm beer heavy, Liverpool Street to Margate trip have only just stopped.
But looks like it’s time to do it all again! Announced today, Sports Team, in conjunction with their Holm Front label, have once again hired a coach and will be taking friends and fans along on the ride (hopefully with air-con this time) for a packed day of fun on the seaside on 16th August.
As guitarist Henry Young days: “Long before we could play our instruments, the aim was always to make Sports Team shows an event, something to take the afternoon off work for. It’s the same with Holm Front. Hopefully there’s something for everyone to buy into. Having put out records by Personal Trainer and Ugly over the past few months, a Holm Front live show felt like the logical next step. Any excuse to charter a double decker bus to Margate. Really pleased to have Walt Disco, The Rhythm Method and a frankly indulgent array of DJs along for the ride. We’ve also got a couple of surprises up our sleeve - one more predictable than the other - that will be announced a little closer to the day.”
Anyone else already feeling hungover?
