Squirrel Flower - aka Ella Williams - has today shared that she’ll be putting out her fifth album, ‘Tomorrow’s Fire’, on 13th October via Polyvinyl / Full Time Hobby. It’s a follow up to 2021’s ‘Planet (I)’, and the news is complemented by the release of two new singles, ‘Full Time Job’ and ‘When A Plant Is Dying’.

Clocking in at only two minutes, ‘Full Time Job’ is a driving number packed with walls of shoegazing guitars that are grounded by Ella’s distinctive, understated delivery. ‘When A Plant Is Dying’, meanwhile, is a more delicate cut, foregrounding her haunting vocals until the instruments descend into a prolonged, frustrated riff breakdown.

Produced by Ella herself (the first Squirrel Flower album to have her take the production reins), ‘Tomorrow’s Fire’ was recorded in North Carolina with a studio band that featured Matt McCaughan (Bon Iver), Seth Kauffman (Angel Olsen band), Jake Lenderman (MJ Lenderman, Wednesday), and Dave Hartley (The War on Drugs).

Squirrel Flower will tour the UK and Europe - including a set at London’s Pitchfork Music Festival - on the dates below; get tickets here.
