St. Vincent & David Byrne Plan Collaborative LP

St Vincent will also release brand-new tracks to celebrate this year’s Record Store Day.

St. Vincent and David Byrne have revealed plans to release a collaborative album, according to Rolling Stone.

The twosome have teamed up to release the LP, due later this year, and will also be taking their collaboration out on the road for a short headline tour.

Speaking about her collaboration with the former Talking Heads frontman, St. Vincent says, ‘David Byrne is the coolest person on the planet.’

‘We just started writing and kept writing and writing,’ she says. ‘It just evolved to become this much bigger thing.’

Their teaming up was apparently inspired by Dirty Projectors and Bjork’s Mount Wittenberg ‘Orca’ LP and came about when the pair met at a Björk and Dirty Projectors charity show around three years ago.

St Vincent will also release brand-new tracks to celebrate this year’s Record Store Day.

The two new tracks are entitled ‘KROKODIL’ and ‘GROT’ and ‘showcases Clark’s aggressive guitar chops and marks a stylistic departure from Strange Mercy.’

Record Store Day takes place on 21st April.

Annie Clark and co will also release a deluxe edition of Strange Mercy, titled Stranger Mercy. This special edition CD will be released on 8th May and will include a DVD of the 4AD session as well as the music videos for ‘Cruel’ and ‘Cheerleader’.
