St Vincent Pays Homage To Elvis Costello On Conan O’Brien
Annie Clark and co play ‘Cheerleader’ and a bit of ‘Radio Radio’ too…

St Vincent appeared on Conan O’Brien last night, managing to play two songs in one performance.
Annie Clark gave a head-nod to Elvis Costello’s infamous SNL moment by powering into his 1977 track ‘Radio Radio’ before announcing to the crowd “I’m sorry ladies and gentleman, there’s no reason to play that song” - echoing the words Costello used a few decades earlier.
Unlike Costello, Clark decided to stick to the script and played a storming rendition of recent album track ‘Cheerleader’.
The song appears on ‘Strange Mercy’, which came out back in September.
