St Vincent shares new short film
Directed by her friend Alan Del Rio Ortiz, the film follows Annie Clark to a baseball game in Marfa, Texas.

St Vincent has shared a new short film which follows her off the road, to Marfa, Texas. All the while, she talks about what attracted her to music, and how art makes her feel more connected.
Filmed by her friend the director Alan Del Rio Ortiz, for Nowness, the short sees Annie Clark singing ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ at a local baseball game, looking with amazement at a coffee flavoured lolly, and talking a great deal about her artistic craft. “I’ve had a lot of kinetic energy in my brain, for lots of years,” Clark says in the film, “and most of the time that energy manifested itself as fear. I just sought a refuge in music, and tried to turn that energy into something that seemed worthwhile.”
During the film, Annie Clark also comes face to face with several cows and a small well-dressed dog, talks creation myths, and reenacts the moment that she first stumbled across ‘St Vincent’ track ‘Rattlesnake’. Watch the short film below.
