Still Corners confirm new album ‘Dead Blue’
They’ve also shared a first taster in the shape of ‘Lost Boys’.
Still Corners have announced their third album ‘Dead Blue’. Due out on 16th September via the band’s own imprint Wrecking Light Records, it’s the follow-up to 2013’s ‘Strange Pleasures’.
The band headed to the seaside to pen ‘Dead Blue,’ setting up studio in sunny Kent. “It came at an interesting time for us,” say the band of the album in a press release. “London was proving too expensive and we also wanted a place that had a slower pace of life. We drove down to Deal in Kent to check it out and ended up renting a house right on the beach. We wrote the whole record there looking out a big window onto the sea - you could open it in the summer and hear the waves. Sometimes the water was just this still cold blue, absolutely beautiful. We named the record after that image.”
“This album is an expression of our fears and our desires in an effort to get a handle on our past experiences and the world around us”, added the band’s Greg Hughes. “The more you know your own darkness, the more you can control those triggers to prevent all out wild fires in your own life.”
