Strokes Debut At Three As Adele Continues Chart Reign

The Strokes have charted at Number Three in the UK album charts with their new LP ‘Angles’.

The record came in behind current chart monster Adele, who’s most recent album ‘21’ is at Number One with debut ‘19’ at Number Two.

Adele now has the longest run at the top of the albums chart for a female solo artist since Madonna’s ‘The Immaculate Collection’ in 1990 - a record released when the singer would be little over a year old.

Her track ‘Someone Like You’ also takes the top spot of the singles chart.

Elsewhere in the albums run down Green Day’s live record ‘Awesome As Fuck’ enters at 14, while Cage The Elephant chart at 26 with ‘Thank You Happy Birthday’.
