Sweden’s Hey Elbow unveil new single, ‘Martin’

Hey Elbow are a three-piece from Sweden, two singles to the good via their native country’s label Adrian Recordings.

Their second effort, ‘Martin’, follows on from a stirring debut ‘Blanca’. And it’s the kind of track that’ll only fail to have an impact if you don’t know your Hey Arse from your Hey Elbow.

It sees Julia Ringdahl and co. blitzing their way through the senses with a formidable wall of sound. Ellen Patterson applies a swarm of chaotic horns, while drummer Liam Amner shifts structures like his life depends on it. Tightly-wound but free-thinking to the extreme, it’s the sound of a band sensing escape and racing to the finish line.

This December sees Hey Elbow supporting fellow Scandi-triumph Alice Boman on a UK tour.
