Tempest open the currents with debut single ‘Tidal Wave’
Debut track from the Queensland via London duo is a wild statement of intent.
Bow down to Tempest, a Queensland, Australia-bred duo who dabble in psych and wild, genre-hopping songwriting, landing somewhere between outer space and their current location of London.
Debut track ‘Tidal Wave’ is a riptide in itself, luring you in to a web of gorgeous textures and structure-shifting whims. Giving nods to early Fleet Foxes with its lush, grandiose opening, it then reveals a thousand different shades - Joseph’s Technicolor Coat doesn’t have shit on this.
The track arrives after a chaotic journey of being deported from their original home, so there’s a bonkers story hiding behind this first work, too. It’s a beyond interesting beginning.
DIY is premiering the twin duo’s debut single below.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
