Hey scenesters
The Cribs are going on a 10th anniversary tour for ‘Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever’
“It’s more just a big THANK YOU to all of you that have been with us”.
They looked back to 2005 for a one-off show at London’s Oval Space last year, but now The Cribs are hitting the road and are set to transport you back to 2007.
Yep, they’re celebrating the 10th anniversary of ‘Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever’ by heading off on a tour of the country with the on point title ‘Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Forever’ (see what they did there?) It all kicks off in Glasgow on 11th May before they head to Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Bristol and London. They’ll round it all off at a huge show at Leeds’ First Direct Arena on 20th May (couldn’t have it any other way really though, could they?)
On Facebook, the band said: “Once upon a time, the idea of embarking on a tour focusing on a specific period of the past would’ve been met with a resounding “Hell no!”. Even after 15 years of the ups and downs involved with being in a punk rock band, we still like to think, as most artists do, that we are moving forward and hopefully retain the same enthusiasm and motivations …that we had when starting out as kids in our teens and early 20’s.”
Of course they’ve changed their minds through, because, after being offered the opportunity they reckoned it “just seemed like too much *fun*”. They continued: “In short, this isn’t The Cribs indulging ourselves and reliving the past - it’s more just a big THANK YOU to all of you that have been with us throughout the years, and a ‘welcome aboard’ to those who missed it the first time around.” Naww.
See all of The Cribs’ dates for the 10th anniversary tour and the video for ‘Men’s Needs’ below. Tickets for the shows go on sale from Friday 10th February at 9am.
