The Futureheads return with new single ‘Jekyll’

They’ll also be releasing an album this summer.

After confirming their return back in January, announcing details of a series of live appearances, The Futureheads have shared a brand new track.

‘Jekyll’ is the first taste of a forthcoming album, set for release on 30th August. It’s also their first electric guitar release in almost a decade - 2012’s ‘Rant’ was, after all, acoustic.

Barry Hyde says ‘Jekyll’ is, “a violent song about my childhood disgust at the grinning, jeering faces of certain fellow primary school students (even the nice ones) whenever there was a playground fight. It left a scar in my psyche that I just can’t shake. A song for the animal part of us all. With love from The Futureheads.”

The group begin their tour tomorrow at Newcastle’s Hit The North festival.
