The Hold Steady share ‘Entitlement Crew’ and ‘A Snake In The Shower’

The tracks come ahead of the band’s shows in Brooklyn.

The Hold Steady are all set to play a run of shows at the Brooklyn Bowl, New York, but before they start the gigs, they’ve only gone and shared two new tracks!

They’ve released ‘Entitlement Crew’ and ‘A Snake In The Shower’. That second one sounds like everyone’s worst nightmare really, but the good news is that neither of the tunes themselves sound remotely like nightmare fuel. Instead, it’s classic The Hold Steady, with a few piercing and memorable lines from Craig Finn.

In a statement on their Bandcamp page, the band said: “We recorded these in Brooklyn just this month. We hope to play them at the shows, so we thought we’d share them in case you want to sing along”.

The tunes aren’t currently available anywhere except Bandcamp, as each purchase of the new songs goes towards the K+L Guardian Foundation. Continuing their message on Bandcamp, the band stated: “The K+L Guardian Foundation was formed to benefit “Jersey” Mike Van Jura’s children after he suddenly passed away in November 2012 at only 36 years of age. Jersey Mike was the unofficial leader of The Unified Scene”.
