The Kills have announced new acoustic EP ‘Echo Home – Non-Electric’
They’ve also shared a stripped-back version of Rihanna’s ‘Desperado’.
On Saturday, The Kills will be kicking off a trio of 15th anniversary shows at Liverpool’s Sound City, and ahead of the dates they’ve announced a new
EP as part of the celebrations.
‘Echo Home – Non-Electric EP’ will be released on 2nd June, and
features audio from a session the band recently captured at the Electric Lady
Studios in New York. The collection will include the album version of ‘Echo
Home’, a stripped-back version of the track and more acoustic numbers,
including ‘Wait’ and ‘That Love’, two of the first tracks the pair released.
The duo have also shared an acoustic cover of Rihanna’s
track ‘Desperado’, which features on the collection. They’ve shared a video of
them performing the track, where they turn it into a yearning, bluesy number,
Alison Mosshart’s voice shining alongside Jamie Hince’s sole guitar licks.
Listen to their version of ‘Desperado’ and see the
tracklisting for ‘Echo Home – Non-Electric’ below.
