The Kills: DIY’s May cover stars revealed
The new issue also features Yak, Weezer, White Lung, Oscar and more.

Not only are we putting out our 2016 festival guide on Friday (fronted by returning heroes Biffy Clyro, details on which you can find by heading over here), but there’s also the not insignificant matter of our May issue, which we can now reveal features transatlantic duo The Kills on the cover.
Alison and Jamie let us in to their world, spilling about the stories that helped create fifth album ‘Ash & Ice’, including broken bones, a trip on the Trans-Siberian Express, and homoerotic thoughts of Vladimir Putin (not ours).
Elsewhere we delve in to the weird and wonderful world of Yak as the ferocious trio plot the release of excellent debut album, ‘Alas Salvation’, find out how Flume’s coping post-fame, plus discover what Rivers Cuomo has planned for the follow-up to Weezer’s still-fresh ‘White’ album.
There’s also a chat with White Lung about new album, ‘Paradise’, a trip to the seaside with Oscar, and Metronomy’s Joe Mount takes us in to the studio to discuss not touring their next record. We meet Cardiff-based newcomers ESTRONS, Walsall singer-songwriter Jorja Smith and Ellery James Roberts’ new project, LUH, and a look back at Bombay Bicycle Club via Ed Nash’s Toothless, - plus we find out what’s going on with Jagwar Ma.
And, as ever, LOTS MORE.
The May 2016 issue of DIY is out from midday on Friday 29th April, available free via stockists across the UK, readable online, downloadable via our iOS app and if you’d rather have a copy posted to you in person, below.
