The Kills promise “completely different” new album
Alison Mosshart reveals plans for a new album due out in 2014.
Details have been scarce on the new record from The Kills aka Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince up to now - but the pair recently confirmed that they’ve been at work on the follow-up to ‘Blood Pleasures’ since autumn 2013.
In a new interview with Nashville Scene, Mosshart started offering out details about sessions taking place in London.
Mosshart claimed that she and Hince were producing something “completely different.”
“Anything that sounds like it could have sat quite easily on any of the other records will probably get scrapped or reworked, played on some kind of different instruments with a completely different kind of rhythm and a completely different kind of feel. That’s what takes so long, is trying to break out of the thing that you know and you’re good at and trying to get good at something else.”
With sessions continuing in the UK capital, the pair’s next item on the agenda is a series of festival shows over the summer. They’re in Nashville for rehearsals in the near future, with dates taking place at New York’s Governors Ball (8th August) and Houston’s Free Press Festival (1st June). Dates conclude on 19th July, where they’ll presumably continue with their new record.
