Return of puddle-man
The Maccabees share ‘Spit It Out’ video
It’s the final installment of the band’s trilogy of videos, set around Elephant and Castle.
Remember that poor bloke The Maccabees left in a bottomless puddle in their video for latest album title-track ‘Marks To Prove It’? Well, turns out he’s doing… er, swimmingly. After ‘Something Like Happiness’ took an eerie stroll round Elephant and Castle, the third video in the band’s Joseph Connor-directed trilogy checks back in on him.
Fittingly, puddle man emerges next to an underwater mural in one of Elephant and Castle roundabout’s many winding underpasses, running underneath the Faraday Memorial. The murals in the video, by David Bratby, have since been destroyed. Journeying around the network, looking at various pictures on the wall, the poor guy looks a bit confused. Who can blame him. He’s been in a puddle since April!
The band are also set to show their feature film ‘Elephant Days’ at BFI’s London Film Festival this month. The event runs from 7th-18th October.
