The National announce ‘Day of The Dead’ listening parties
The group’s all-star Grateful Dead tribute album is released 20th May
The National are releasing their all-star tribute album to the Grateful Dead next Friday (20th May) on 4AD - to celebrate the long-awaited release the band have announced a group of listening parties across the US.
Taking place from the 17th - 22nd May, with most of the parties taking place on the 18th - the parties will give fans and listeners the chance to hear the full 59-song record before its release.
The album features a who’s who of guests taking on some of the Dead’s most loved songs, with Courtney Barnett, Anohni, the War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, Unknown Mortal Orchestra as well as The National (amongst many more) contributing.
All profits made from the album will be given to the Red Hot Organisation in their continued fight against HIV / AIDS - see the poster below for full dates and locations of the listening parties.
