The National announce new live album ‘Rome’, share four songs on ‘NTL RM EP I’

After a huge summer of live performances, The National have decided to commit one particular appearance to record: the quintet will release a new live album titled ‘Rome’ on 13th December via 4AD.

Taken from across their full 20+ year career, the album’s 21 tracks were recorded live, without overdubs, during the band’s performance in the historic Cavea at Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone in the Italian capital back in June 2024, before being mixed by their longtime collaborator Pete Katis. Naturally, the double album will be available as a two-LP set, while members of their Cherry Tree fan club will be offered an exclusive, tricolour triple-LP, that features five additional songs, ooh-er.

Alongside today’s news, the band have also shared a preview of sorts in the form of ‘NTL RM EP I’, a four-track EP containing tracks ‘I Need My Girl’, ‘Lemonworld’, ‘The Geese of Beverly Road’ and ‘Lit Up’. Check out the record’s full tracklisting, and dive into the EP, below.
