New venture
The National’s Matt Berninger announces EL VY project with Brent Knopf
Debut album ‘Return to the Moon’ is out this October.
The National frontman Matt Berninger has formed a new project.
EL VY consists of Berninger and Brent Knopf, of Menomena and Ramona Falls. Together, they’re releasing debut full-length ‘Return To The Moon’ on 30th October via 4AD.
A statement says EL VY is “not a replacement or a side project, but a glimpse into an alternate musical universe.”
Berninger and Knopf’s friendship spans back several years, and on the basis of new song ‘Return to the Moon’, their musical partnership sounds like The National going funk. It’s an exciting first taste.
