The Pastels have confirmed they’ll be releasing a brand new album this spring.
‘Slow Summits’, the follow-up to the band’s last studio album proper, 1997’s ‘Illumination’, will be out via Domino on 27th May.
The nine-track album, recorded in Glasgow by John McEntire and Bal Cooke, and mixed in Chicago by McEntire, features a series of guest appearances. In addition to the ‘core’ line-up of Stephen McRobbie, Katrina Mitchell, Tom Crossley, Gerard Love, Alison Mitchell and John Hogarty, it also boasts sounds from original Pastel Annabel Wright (Aggy) and Teenage Fanclub’s Norman Blake.
The tracklisting is:
1. Secret Music
2. Night Time Made Us
3. Check My Heart
4. Summer Rain
5. After Image
6. Kicking Leaves
7. Wrong Light
8. Slow Summits
9. Come To The Dance
The announcement has been accompanied by an album trailer, below.
