The Pastels are getting ready to release a brand new album at the end of next month, and in the meantime, they’ve unveiled a new video.

Filmed on 16mm film, the clip for ‘Check My Heart’ is a rich depiction of life on a Glaswegian Saturday morning, as directed by Blair Young.

The band’s new album, ‘Slow Summits’, will follow up their last studio album proper, 1997’s ‘Illumination’ on 27th May.

The nine-track album, recorded in Glasgow by John McEntire and Bal Cooke, and mixed in Chicago by McEntire, features a series of guest appearances. In addition to the ‘core’ line-up of Stephen McRobbie, Katrina Mitchell, Tom Crossley, Gerard Love, Alison Mitchell and John Hogarty, it also boasts sounds from original Pastel Annabel Wright (Aggy) and Teenage Fanclub’s Norman Blake.
