The Shins share ‘Dead Alive’
Here the group’s first new track since 2014.
The Shins are officially back with new single ‘Dead Alive’.
The first taste of a new, fifth record, ‘Dead Alive’ is streaming below. It follows months of cryptic studio shots, a scattering of live performances and yesterday’s Halloween-ready teaser video.
It’s the group’s first track since 2014, where they released ‘So Now What’ as part of the soundtrack for Zach Braff film ‘Wish I Was Here’. Their most recent album is 2012’s ‘Port of Morrow’, although frontman James Mercer’s been keeping busy working with Danger Mouse via Broken Bells.
Last month, the band debuted new material during festival slots and a show at London’s Village Underground. A new full-length is due in early 2017.
They’ve also shared a video for ‘Dead Alive’, starring James Mercer living out a surreal nightmare and getting squashed by giants.
