The Staves preview new album with ‘Steady’ track

Gloomy antidote to Winter blues is produced by Justin Vernon.

On 23rd March (moved from an initial February release date), British folk trio The Staves bring out their new album ‘If I Was’. Following the ‘Blood I Bled’ EP, now they’ve unveiled a new song in the shape of ‘Steady’.

The song was recorded with Justin Vernon at his trusty log cabin, during five trips to Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Speaking previously about the recording experience, The Staves said: “It was the most liberating experience, being able to record until 4 in the morning, or while drunk. Whatever worked – there was no idea too silly. It was like a school trip with no parents.”

Listen to The Staves’ new track, ‘Steady’, below.

‘If I Was’ tracklist:

Blood I Bled
Steady
No Me, No You, No More
Let Me Down
