Au Revoir
The Stone Roses have split up. Again.
Manc foursome who were apparently still together, confirm that they are no longer still together.
The Stone Roses have announced that they have broken up for the second time, confirming most people’s assumptions.
The news was confirmed by guitarist John Squire during an interview with The Guardian. Asked whether the band had ended, he said “Yeah”. So there you go.
Speaking to promote his new art exhibition ‘Disinformation’ at London’s Newport Street Gallery, he said that Stone Roses singer Ian Brown has not been invited to the opening, but that the pair have made a pact not to discuss their relationship with the press.
The only reflection he offered on The Stone Roses, was to describe it as “Quite a brief period that gets a lot of attention still. I was surprised at the level of support we got when we got back on stage.”
The band released two singles after reforming in 2011, the rubbish ‘All For One’ and the not rubbish‘Beautiful Thing’. Their much-hyped third album never materialised.
