The Stone Roses’ touring company looks set to dissolve

The ongoing will-they-won’t-they saga surrounding The Stones Roses just took a new twist, with the band’s Second Touring Ltd looking like it’s set to dissolve later this month.

So, a quick recap. Back in 2016, the band’s Ian Brown revealed that the band had been holed up in the recording studio working on some “glorious” new music, and shortly after that the slightly ramshackle tracks ‘All For One’ and ‘Beautiful Thing’ followed. Then, things fell a bit quiet. Spare for a bunch of summer shows this year, and a 2016 headline show at T In the Park, the band haven’t been up to much; certainly, there’s no sign yet of a new album.

According to the Government’s Companies House - an official register of the UK’s limited companies - Second Touring was given its First Gazette notice for compulsory strike-off back in October this year. This means that the company (originally set up by the band for their touring) will dissolve later this month on 24th December unless action is taken to restore it. Companies are usually struck off if registrars at Companies House have “reasonable grounds to believe that no business is being carried on,” so it’s not great news in terms of a Stone Roses resurrection.
