The Strokes’ Nick Valensi shares first single with new band CRX
‘Ways To Fake It’ comes from the guitarist’s new project.
Not one to be left out, The Strokes’ Nick Valensi became the last member of the band to form a proper side-project this year, starting up his own band CRX. Today, they’ve lifted the lid on their first single, ‘Ways to Fake it’.
Coloured by the guitarist’s trademark spininess, it’s a song concerned with faking it till you make it, flashing the cash with crossed fingers. “I’m ashamed to let it show, the way that I’ve been spending, and all the money that I blow,” sings Valensi, effortlessly stepping into frontman’s shoes.
CRX also boasts Richie Follin from Guards, The Dose’s Ralph Alexander, Darian Zahedi and Jon Safley of The Reflections as members. Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age has produced their debut album, ‘New Skin’.
‘New Skin’ is out on October 28th. Listen to the lead single ‘Ways to Fake it’ below.
