Say what?
Have The Weeknd and Daft Punk been working together?
An exec at Republic Records has confirmed the news.
This would be one hell of a collaboration.
According to reports and sources at The Weeknd’s label Republic Records, Abel Tesfaye has been working with dance pioneers Daft Punk.
In an interview with Billboard for their “hitmakers roundtable,” Wendy Goldstein - Republic’s head of urban A&R - said both acts were in the studio together. “Well actually, we have a session coming up in two days with the Weeknd and Daft Punk, and I’ve always been a massive Daft Punk fan,” she said. “This is the first time I’ve been involved with an artist who’s going to go and work with them,” she added.
The Weeknd hinted at the collaboration last week, posting a picture of two Daft Punk robots stacked on a speaker.
