The xx have a sun-flecked new video for ‘I Dare You’

The xx have shared a new music video for ‘I Dare You,’ and it stars Millie Bobby Brown - aka. Eleven - from Stranger Things, and Ashton Sanders from Oscar-winning film Moonlight. It’s all a bit complicated to follow plot-wise, but here’s the general gist.
Several couples unite around a pool to snog a bit while The xx perform the ‘I See You’ cut behind them; Romy’s got a jacket on that says ‘Romantic’ (a la the song’s lyrics) and Oliver is doing some very good dinosaur dancing while playing the bass. Millie Bobby Brown, meanwhile, is very upset about it all, and has a big cry; first by the pool, and then back in the car. Maybe she doesn’t like The xx?
The video also stars Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson, Lulu Tenney, and Ernesto Cervantes.
In the event that our fairly vague explanation of the ‘I Dare You’ video hasn’t really helped, here’s Oliver Sim from The xx speaking about it instead. It’s “our love letter to Los Angeles, a city close to our hearts, where we wrote and recorded parts of our album ‘I See You,’” he explained.
There you go then. Watch it below.
