Where's the drop?
Thumpers cover Flume and Chet Faker’s ‘Drop The Game’
UK duo have taken on two stars from Down Under in celebration of Transgressive Records’ 10th birthday.
The stirring synth wobbles and playful melodies of Flume and Chet Faker’s ‘Drop the Game’ are basically tailor made for someone like Thumpers; a band incapable of making a pop song without it sounding a) massive and b) not dosed up on fun.
In this case, the inevitable happened. John Hamson Jr. and Marcus Pepperell have put time aside to give their own rendition of the 2013, Aussie-stamped smash. It’s all for the cause of Transgressive Records’ big 10 year celebrations.
So far this month (and the label are giving one free rarity away each day in September), we’ve been treated to some Mystery Jets, The Antlers, The Shins, Fist City and a Flume original of his own.
DIY’s spoken to the founders of Transgressive about their mind-blowing first ten years and why they’re looking ahead to the future - it’s in the new issue.
