Tobias Jesso Jr. shares new, string-backed version of ‘Without You’

Tobias Jesso Jr. has unveiled an alternate full-band version of ‘Without You’, a highlight from his debut album ‘Goon’.

The new rendition forms part of a separate 7” release, which also includes early demo ‘True Love’ - a noted outlier from the debut LP. Addressing the new version, Tobias says himself and producer Ariel Rechtshaid “both had strings in mind when we originally recorded,” but they “weren’t able to put them on the album due to time and budget constraints.”

Continuing, he says: “I’ve never been a big fan of alternate versions, but I’ve made an exception this time, simply because it’s hard for me to hear the song any differently since that performance.”

The new 7” is available to pre-order here, out 25th September on True Panther.
