TOPS debut smoky, glitzy ‘Anything’ video
Canadian band’s ‘Picture You Staring’ came out in 2014.
Out of the post-summer lull comes an unexpected treat from Montreal three piece TOPS.
On new track ‘Anything’, Jane Penny showcases her emotional vocal range as much as her melodic knowhow, delivering exquisite overcast and forlorn vocals that slowly crawl across a spacey and baron yet beautiful pop landscape.
On their first two LPs (‘Tender Opposites’ and last year’s ‘Picture You Staring’) TOPS showcased complex but addictive pop hooks. ‘Anything’ resumes the same state of cosy and intimate addictive chorus. By seemingly never biting off more than they can chew, TOPS appear serene, floating in a world of their own.
