Tribute gig announced for Jack White keyboardist Ikey Owens
Grammy-winning musician passed on 14th October.
Isaiah Randoph “Ikey” Owens, the late keyboardist for Jack White and The Mars Volta, is going to be paid tribute with a new gig in Texas on 1st December.
‘Songs in the Key of Ikey Owens’ will be a free concert, featuring performances from local Texas musicians who have history playing with the musician, who was found dead in his hotel room on 14th October. A coroner put his death down to a heart attack.
Jack White paid tribute to Owens, saying: “he will be missed and loved forever by his family, friends, bandmates and fans… We will all miss you Ikey. You were and are an incredible artist,” before devoting ‘Love Interruption’ to the musician at his London O2 Arena gig.
