Two Door Cinema Club bring ‘Gameshow’ to Kimmel

New album is due out this Friday (14th October).

DIY’s September cover stars, Two Door Cinema Club, were on last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, performing a glitzy rendition of ‘Gameshow’.

The track appears on an album of the same name, due out this Friday (14th October). It’s the trio’s third album, arriving after a tumultuous near-split and year apart.

In last month’s cover feature, the group speak candidly about the forces that nearly tore them apart. Bassist Kevin Baird said: “You imagine playing fewer shows, having more time at home. There’s this mystery point where everything’s fine and you can say yes or no, on a whim, to what you’d like to do. Life on the road, you’re not enjoying the things around you, thinking each show is a step on the ladder to somewhere else. It becomes less meaningful. Life at home is this little gap in time that’s prolonging the work you’re gonna have to do to get to that point. The more time we spend at home, the less time we’re away slogging it to reach that festival headline slot.” But despite worldwide tours and big telly slots such as these being in the calendar, the group insisted they’re taking things a little slower this time.

Next year, they’re off on a UK tour:

25 Cambridge, Corn Exchange
