The release is in aid of Japan’s earthquake and tsunami victims.

U2 and Rihanna are amongst the names confirmed as taking part in a charity compilation put together by Universal Music.

The release is in aid of Japan’s earthquake and tsunami victims, with money raised going to the Japanese Red Cross.

According to timeslive.co.za, a spokesman for the label has said: ‘We are doing it only digitally because it is faster, and this will be a worldwide release. The plan is to have it available later this week.’

Also taking part are Bon Jovi, Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber, with more acts to be confirmed.
