Still here
Vondelpark return with ‘You’ve Got Me Where I Want You’, and more demos
A near album’s worth of tracks have been uploaded to Soundcloud in the first real glimpse of new Vondelpark material for over two years.
London’s Vondelpark have shared a bunch of new demos, the first real glimpse at new material from the group since 2013’s debut album ‘Seabed’. It’s not unlike the band to take their time with things, a point seemingly acknowledged by the hashtag #stillhere that accompanied the post.
Four new tracks were initially uploaded to Soundcloud; ‘Waterfields’, ‘Stop Fake Shoot’, ‘Ty Baby’, ‘Robbed In Dam’ – a presumed nod to the unfortunate events in the Dutch capital where the band’s car was broken into and their laptops stolen – and ‘You’ve Got Me Where I Want You’, which strikes as the first-listen standout with its consuming pulse and typical Vondelpark warmth.
Not long after on Sunday evening though - following a tweet of “fuck it, just have it” from Vondelpark’s main architect Lewis Rainsbury - a further three tracks; ‘Goat’, ‘HZE’, and ‘Heavy Weights Around My Neck’ were added, making for a near album’s worth of new material.
