Watch Arcade Fire performing ‘Vampire/Forest Fire’ in 2002
Rare video of the baby-faced band playing in a Montreal loft has emerged.

New footage of a baby-faced Arcade Fire performing in a Montreal loft has emerged online. Filmed in 2002 - a year before the band put out their debut self-titled EP - it shows them playing ‘Vampire/Forest Fire’ live.
Win Butler and Régine Chassagne both appear in the video, playing in an earlier iteration of the band with former Arcade Fire members Dane Mills, Brendan Reed, and Myles Broscoe. Most of the filming is at a slightly strange angle (lots of chin shots), but we’ll forgive that given the gig was in an attic.
‘Vampire/Forest Fire’ would go on to appear on Arcade Fire’s debut EP, which they released in 2003. Watch them perform it a year earlier below.
