Watch: BBC Newsnight Explores The ‘Paradox’ Of Odd Future
It’s only a matter of time before there’s a remix made of Jeremy Paxman uttering the words Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All” over and over.”
Watch footage from Tuesday’s Newsnight, where the BBC journalist Stephen Smith meets LA rap crew Odd Future during their recent tour of the UK.
It’s an interesting watch but, quite frankly, a clip where nobody comes off in particularly glorious light.
Smith begins by posing the question: ‘Is this the future of rock’n’roll? Teenagers queueing politely for a shop?’, while trying to juxtapose their low album sales and DIY ethics with their materialist marketing tactics.
Tyler and the rest of the Odd Future collective on the other hand are not in the best of spirits, stating that they write lyrics ‘to piss old white people off’.
Charming. You can watch the full 6mins above.
Rest assured, it’s only a matter of time before there’s a remix made of Jeremy Paxman uttering the words ‘Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All’ over and over.
