Devon shares new track ‘TRUST ISSUES’

The Forest of Dean newcomer shares his latest slice of guitar-pop.

Following the release of ‘BELONG 2 U’, Devon is back with his newest guitar-pop bop ‘TRUST ISSUES’.

“I woke up and wrote this first thing in the morning,” Devon says. “It felt like one of those moments when artists say songs fall out the sky, I was strumming random chords and wailing as I always do and then the chorus melody just came out of nowhere”.

“You’re reminiscing on how nice things have been but there’s also this looming sense of all the mistakes that have been made,” he says of the inspiration. “The chorus is almost looking out at the future being unsure and a bit scared of who you’ll be without your partner. I found it really interesting re-reading the lyrics recently, making these new connections to the current pandemic. There were feelings of isolation and like you didn’t exist, that now feel different through the lense of the current world state”.

Accompanied by a video directed by Charlie Reader, Devon adds, “The video highlights everything that’s weird and wrong with the world and all in all is a bit of an uncomfortable watch. It really gets you thinking about the world right now, and your own role in it, which is definitely something I love about how it’s been made”.
