Watch Foo Fighters cover Black Sabbath’s ‘War Pigs’ on Letterman

Band are taking over Letterman for five straight nights of music.

Last night, Foo Fighters began a five-night residency on The Late Show with David Letterman by performing a Black Sabbath cover with Zac Brown.

Each night this week they’ll be joined by special guests - they began by covering ‘War Pigs’, originally by the Sabbath in 1970.

Zac Brown also appears on the band’s new album, ‘Sonic Highways’. Scheduled for a 10th November release, the likes of Eagles’ Joe Walsh and Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard are confirmed to appear.

’Sonic Highways’ arrives in the form of an LP and a new documentary, which sees the band landing in different US cities to record, while Grohl interviews musical legends from different sides of the country.

Each episode is devoted to a different musical landmark in the U.S. - Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington, D.C.It’s set to air on BBC Four from Sunday 26th October.

Below, alongside the ‘War Pigs’ performance, Grohl speaks to Letterman about the process. He also says “if it weren’t for these guys (referring to Letterman’s team), we wouldn’t have been able to put [‘Sonic Highways’] together.”
