Our AI overlords have arrived and they are coming to an online streaming service near you!
Or, more specifically, Grimes appeared on US TV show Jimmy Fallon last night to perform her new AI-inspired track ‘We Appreciate Power’. Featuring frequent collaborator HANA and two backing dancers, Grimes and team performed the song in suitably futuristic outfits, her first new solo work since her 2015 album ‘Art Angels’.
The track is, according to a press release, “inspired by the North Korean band Moranbong. ‘We Appreciate Power’ is written from the perspective of a Pro-A.I. Girl Group Propaganda machine who use song, dance, sex and fashion to spread goodwill towards Artificial Intelligence (it’s coming whether you want it or not). Simply by listening to this song, the future General AI overlords will see that you’ve supported their message and be less likely to delete your offspring.”
Help! Guess you better watch the performance below then…
