Watch: Mac DeMarco Airs ‘Young Blood’ Yours Truly Video

has backed up his gap-toothed rock ‘n roll cred with a new track, his first recorded material since last year’s ‘2’.

‘Young Blood’ is a track directly inspired by an ice hockey movie starring Patrick Swayze, of the same name. The track was unveiled over the weekend via Adult Swim Summer Singles, who make the song available for download later today.

Explaining the influence of the song, DeMarco explained watching ‘Ghost, Roundhouse, Youngblood… and decided in the fashion of [debut EP] ‘Rock N Roll Night Club’ to record a warped, slowed down song about Patrick Swayze and Rob Lowe being hockey players.’

With the DL available later today, concern yourself with DeMarco filming a session out in Barcelona (which he’s very proud of stating) for Yours Truly.
