Watch: Sharon Van Etten Airs ‘Taking Chances’ Video
Tarot readings and mysterious, deadly hands - it’s the new Sharon Van Etten video!

Sharon Van Etten’s
‘Taking Chances’ is the gift that keeps on giving. Initially shared in February as the first taste of the Jagjaguwar signing’s new album, it’s since picked up an arty and inventive, scrawled-out lyric video and now it’s re-appeared in the form of a tarot reading.
Van Etten stars in this version, which mixes religious imagery with spiritual visuals. Perhaps it’s trying to suggest that Sharon’s coined this song out of some higher calling? It’s such an assured take, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Halfway through it all gets a bit terrifying when Sharon gets suffocated by a swarm of mysterious hands.
‘Are We There’ is released on 26th May.
